Car Insurance- Proof of no claim bonus

Options
I have been with the same insurance company for the last few years but they only show the amount of no claim bonus as 9 years or more.

I actually have 11 years no claims discount but will I be able to get proof of this if I swap to another insurer?

Thanks in advance

You can ask them to give you an individual letter with your correct NCD.

But 11 or 9 will make little or no difference to premiums, and if you have a fault claim you will generally lose 2 years (unless protected) from 5.

So after one claim you will have 3 years NCD at renewal irrespective of having 9 or 11 originally

Most insurers stop counting at five years, as this is enough to trigger the maximum discount (your NCB is essentially just a 'money off voucher' for a percentage of your premium) - anything after that is just vanity.
