critical illness claim. Should I ask a solicitor to assist me in making the claim?

Options
I recently had a heart attack (an NSTEMI) overseas. I have been released from hospital but am still in the country because I am not allowed on the advice of the cardiologist to fly back to the UK for a month. I collapsed while running. An angiogram revealed that one of my heart's three main arteries was 90% blocked and I underwent a procedure to have two stents fitted to open up the artery. I have critical illness cover with a leading insurer. The advice I've been given by my broker is that I have a solid claim. The value of the policy is a comfortable six figures. Given the amount of money involved I am nervous about handling this claim alone. Should I be seeking legal advice / representation?

You shouldn't need to spend any money over making a claim.

If you hit any problems then cross that bridge if it comes up.

No. Complete waste of money. 90-95% of CI claims are paid out. A bit of form filling and recording checking is all it takes.

Some insurers will even give you a dedicated claims handler to help you through the process.
