University. One to two marks off a first? Experiences?

I have just finished my first year at university. I am proud of how well I have done because I have been working, pregnant and now have a beautiful daughter, a home to manage as well as a DS and partner lol. I am dyslexic also.
I am studying housing and management so modules on housing, modules on management - next module is on Leadership looking at elements such as trust etc and reviewing leadership overtime - including Greek Philosophers Plato etc.
In the first semester I did ok - two 2:2 grades 50 and 55 and one 2:1 grade at 67.
I have just got this semesters grades and am proud of my results. They are 2:1 grades of 69, 69 and 65. So the 65 is 5 marks off a first but the other two are one mark off - what can I do to make these firsts?!
I have mixed academic and grey literature which always is mentioned on my essays as well as doing a lot of wider reading.
Next year counts towards my final grade so I really want to improve - I am sure if you got 69 overall on a degree you would still get a 2:1 whether its one mark away or not!
Experiences please?

If you get a 69 overall, it would be counted as a 2:1. You can however as for an overall remark as it is so close!0

Hi - I was 1 mark away from a first so my uni called me in for a viva. Sadly I failed the viva and came away with the 2:1
Find out what your uni policy is in these situations and if you have to take a viva read as widely as you can around your subject
And in the meantime your second and third years should count more towards your final grade so make sure you are well prepared for those exams! We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic.

I was "on the cusp" when it came to my final degree score so I was entered for a viva exam and got my first0

On my degree we had a lovely thing where you were allowed to pick I think it was 2 modules to discount, your worst two as it were. Maybe you have something the same? I had two really rubbish classes I wasn't interested in at all, so discounting them brought me up to a first.0

For essays where I am getting 69 - what do I need to think about to get 70 and above?
What is a viva?3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:

I'd ask to see your tutors - they will be more able to look at your essays and exams and tell you the mistakes you're making and how to improve. We had a brilliant lecturer at uni who would happily tell us exactly how he expected us to answer a question.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
Speak to your tutors and ask them what you can do to improve. They are the experts in the field and should be able to tell you what you need to do (in general terms).0

Don't forget that the standard of work required to get the same grades will be higher in the second and third years.0

We were only allowed to resubmit work if we had failed. Even then we were only guaranteed the maximum grade of a D- so it was tough !!!!Our Rainbow Twins born 17th April 2016
