Options
Hi there me newbie.....
Bought a second hand car on Monday 9/6/14 an 08 plate Focus with 81,000 miles on the clock. Drove it for 4 days and 250 miles and the clutch starts to slip, he said he only covers engine and gearbox on the warranty !
Can anyone help do I have to pay for a new clutch possible £600 pounds after only 4 days ?

Assuming you bought from a trader he is wholly liable to sort this out. It would be deemed that the fault was present at the time of sale.
Get back to him face to face - say you need it sorted immediately by him and not at your expense.0 -
There's a difference between a fault and wear and tear.
If its on the original clutch then it comes down to what the reasonable life expectancy of it is. 80k miles for a clutch is arguably very reasonable.
If its been changed already say at 70k for example it should be easy to argue this isn't wear and tear but a fault for which he should remedy.
The cars not done 250 miles though, its done 81250 miles if you get my point0 -
Unless this is a bargain basement, all faults shown, banger, get it back and checked/fixed foc.
Even the slimiest trader will take it on the chin if it is a retail car.0
