Morning, sunny and warm here and forecast to be hot again today, garden is looking good and polytunnel is looking very good.
Going to be a very long day today as I spent the night on the sofa due to something spooking the dog just before midnight and he just wouldn't settle but paced and panted for a couple of hours, he's OK now and gone off with He Who Knows for his morning walk.
JACKIE hope all goes well for your poor DD and that she's back and bouncing very quickly. MOLLY I hope you managed some sleep last night with all the worries on your shoulders at the moment, I do so wish that all the different agencies and departments dealing with peoples lives had the capacity to liase with each other and do joined up thinking, I guess that's too much to be hoped for eh? Hang in there!!!
Have a good day everyone, Lyn xxx.0 -
Morning all,
It is going to be a wonderful Friday 13th as it's my baby's 18th Birthday, have a great day Danny :bdaycake:
Hugs for Molly, HH and Jackie, and Hester sounds like you have your hands full xx
I'm just making my birthday boys favourite French Toast and then he is off to do his final exam. Tonight he's off for a pint with his dad and brothers and then off out with his friends. I shall be on pins all night but he's a sensible lad, hope all is ok.
I had a pampering night last night, shaved what needed shaving:o did a body and face scrub and some fake tan so I'm not quite so pale and ghost like:D
Today I need some food from Aldi. We are having a barbi on Sunday as it's Father's Day, my DD birthday, she's 28, that makes me feel old and dh birthday on Monday. Just kids and their partners and we will FaceTime my eldest boy so he is part of the celebrations.
Planning on making chicken and pork kebabs with peppers and onions mmm.
Anyway need to get on. Good luck to all those doing exams today xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Hi everyone,
Jackie O, I hope your daughter gets well soon.
Happy birthday Danny.
Hester, don't overdo things this weekend, although I know it's difficult not to when it's your kids.
Speaking of kids my DD is having root canal work this morning so I'm thinking of her.
I didn't manage to post yesterday because I unexpected treat - I went to have afternoon tea at Claridges with my lovely DD who is writing and article on the 10 best champagne experiences. She had taken DH up the Shard the night before to drink champagne (he was very scathing about the place). Claridges however was really excellent (although she doesn't go incognito so we did get very attentive service) and very special, although not very moneysaving if you have to pay. I didn't have a glass of champagne because my dentist told me to avoid alcohol as it was likely to irritate my mouth.
Speaking of which, the dentist is going to refer me to an oral specialist because she thinks I have a condition which she says is not a virus or infection and they don't really know what it is - it's a something. I said that I have a lot of things wrong that are a something. When I googled it it said that it often occurs in people with auto-immune conditions so apparently it's just another thing that my body has decided to hate about me!
I'll be busy today packing to go away for the weekend and I have an appointment at the bank this morning so I'd better go.

Hi chums she's having a CT scan as I type so hoping to know more by the afternoon. She is nil by mouth atm and on a drip with anti-bios.Just going to have some lunch shortly and then maybe have 40 winks
:).
She is insistant that we don't cancel our weekend though.
Beautiful weather here in Kent and its so nice to see some sun at last
Hope everyone is ok
Happy birthday to another Danny,My DGS Danny was 23 last birthday and I can remember it only seems like a couple of years ago I was knitting him his Postman Pat jumper. My eldest DGD Katie moved into her new house yesterday with her fiancee Tom and they seem to be up to their eyes in cleaning as it was left filthy.I remember the last thing I did when I moved in 1995 was hoover through from top to bottom and my hoover was the last thing that went onto the movers van:):)
Ah well time for some food I think
Cheers chums

Good morning,
Hugs & well wishes to Hilstep,Molly and JackieOs DD and anyone else feeling poorly.
Happy 18th to Julies DS
Judi,Soldier is lovely.
Been too busy to post for a couple of days trying to find somewhere to live.Been ringing round etc-still waiting for our estate agent to ring back from Wednesday as I saw 1 that looked ok but needed to know whether they'd take a dog, you'd have thought it was in their interest to reply seeing as they will pocket a large sum in fees once ours has completed, but no
Anyway on Wednesday afternoon I got offered 3 rentals, one neighbour rang to say his mate had an empty property, then our windowcleaner offered us his late MILs,then next door but one popped round so we're taking him up on that. Its more than we wanted to pay but we are getting it cheaper than he was asking & there's more room so it just seemed less hassle & its only for 6 months while we renovate the cottage, and there is still room for DGChildren to stay.We still haven't heard for sure that ours completes a week today but thats what our buyers were hoping for,and its manageable for us as theres no travelling to & fro between houses.
DH had an hour spare this morning so we've done another CS run & made some space in the garage, speaking of which the bl@@dy motor has gone on the door so had to get the men out to see to it but they have to order it,that'll be a couple of hundred quid. it could have lasted another week for us :rotfl:.
Meals are being very simple atm, baguettes and pate/cheese tonight. On the upside our chest freezer will fit somewhere in the rented house so I dont have to throw my 10 packs of hm stock away, that would have bugged me.
Take care everyone x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Morning all, well it is, just.
Thinking of you Hilstep, Molly and Hesters MIL. Hester you have the patience of a saint.
Another hot sunny day in the sunny West Midlands. I got up pretty early and got most of my chores out of the way before it got too hot.
Need to sort my finances today. 'Youngest' leaves college in a week or two and I think the Family allowance I get for him will stop soon. I need to make sure everything is in order as my bank account will be useless then (apart from being used to pay the Direct Debits).
Nothing else to add really.
Onwards and forwards,
have a great day all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Morning all,
Molly, Hester and Hilly thinking of you all.
Jackie, hopefully you will hear news this afternoon, hope your daughter is feeling better before long.
It is too warm for me! I am another who is of that age who gets extra hot and has changing hormones causing monthly headaches etc. the doctor even thinks it is my age that has exacerbated my fibro, wonder if the fibro will disappear once my hormones settle down?
Popped out for my weekly grocery shop. Put a load in the washing machine so will put out on the line shortly.
Really need to get going as planning on getting the house valued in July, and I have a lot of tidying up to do.
Jackie, how exciting for your dgd to have moved into her first home. I wonder how people can leave a place filthy. I too, will be cleaning at the very last moment, before closing the front door for the last time.
Take care all.

Afternoon all,
I love the sunshine but it really is too hot for me. I am not going to moan really as we don't seem to get enough of it!
Hugs for those that would like or need them and happy birthday to all the birthday people
Not much to report, just trying to muster up the ooomph to do the ironing!
Off to see DD tomorrow, looking forward to it.
Have a good weekend.0 -
Glorious day again
I had a huge bonfire last night and got rid of a good deal of carp from the garden, it was lovely just sitting there with a glass of southern comfort
Smelled like a !!!!! when I got in though so I ended up having a shower at 11pm, which cooled me down enough to get a reasonablenight's sleep.
Paying for it today because my arthritis is really giving me gipOh well only 149 days to Christmas.......................duck! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Went down to the market and got the fruit and veg and we also got more compost and topsoil, for a new raised bed that DH is putting in for me. It is costing a mint, but hopefully we won't have to get so much next year as DH has just bought a compost bin, so we will have our own supply.
This year everytime I pick stuff I will put the money into a pot, then at the end of the year I will take out the cost of compost and seeds and see what I have left and how much if anything I have saved.
Happy 18th to Julies DS
JackieO get well wishes for your DD ((hugs))
Steak, mushrooms, chips and salad for dinner and a couple of glasses of vino with DD in the garden this evening
