TalkTalk misery thanks Martin !!

I followed martin's advice, and signed up for TalkTalk's Talk3 international plan last December. Some 3 months later, during which time they thought I was connected, but wasn't, I was eventually on line. Initially the broadband service seemed fine, but after a week or so, I started to suffer disconnections (at busy periods). I contacted talktalk and they promisesd to look into it. To cut a long story short, after three more months nothing has been resolved, and at busy times my broadband is similar, if not worse than dial-up. I called talktalk to cancel the service, and was advised that I was liable to a £70 early cancellation charge. I challenged this, saying that, as they were aware, my broadband sevice had never worked properly. Their answer to this was, that the broadband service was a seperate service, I could cancel that, but not the phone service, and therefore, I would have to pay the £70 charge. ..... so COME ON MARTIN !!! STOP SENDING TALKTALK NEW CUSTOMERS !!!

I to along with my mum (worst of all I suggested she sign up with them, how angry with myself am I) have had a nightmare with Talktalk, we have phoned to try and sort out the problem get told they will ring me back. What do you think?!! Still no phone calls, sent emails to C.E no reply from him, which I suppose says it all.
If any other money saving users have any contact to Charles Dunstone maybe you could point him to this forum and he might do me the honor of sending me a private message so I could highlight to him the two recent emails sent to his company, one of which has a reply reference and dates of phone calls. Maybe even more importantly he might see how his company is causing his customers untold grief and stress, something I imagine from his rosy coloured glasses he is unaware of todate.
I also would also like to urge Martin not to promote Talktalk, maybe Martin could highlight the company in the press just like he has bank charges.0 -
:jI signed up with Talk Talk in November of 2006 and by June 2007 I was still not connected to broadband, which is what I signed up for in the first place. They cunningly switched my telephone line and calls over to them within 10 days and I was then left paying £15/ month to NTL for Telephone calls and my dial up connection + call charges and line rental to Talk Talk too. In short I was paying two different companies for telephone calls. In June I spent 40 minutes on the phone to a very stubborn young man who was offering me all sorts of good will gestures, by this time I had lost all faith in Talk Talk and told him so. The cheeky so and so tried to tell me then that if I wanted to cancel there was a £70 cancellation fee. I told him in no uncertain terms that I would not pay and that Talk Talk had renagued on the contract they made with me and that if they persued it I would seek compensation. It did the trick. I got a call a week later saying that my contract had been cancelled at no charge. Can anyone recommend a Broadband deal that won't break the bank and fray my nerves?0

they do seem to have got better than when i first signed up but the adsl is a bit McD's
it was upgraded to 4MB last month and our calling features stopped working
despite complaining 4 weeks on and they still dont work
there also seems to be a trick that they slow down the site you most look at & some sites just arnt there - when i know they are
they also wont tell me how much longer I have left on my contract, we will write & tell you, but it never happens
Gnever take advice from broke or unsuccessful people
