Ive just realised I need to renew a passport for travel on 29th June. Anyone done this recently and if so have I any chance?!

Go and ask at the post office - they should know as they give out the forms. You would probably have to pay extra for fast-tracking.0

If you don't mind paying extra get the forms from the PO and then either make an appt at the Belfast passport office if they have one available or just turn up at the office itself and wait for a drop in appt.0

No its a european flight and not Ryanair!! Phoned the passport office at 8am, took 6 calls to get through and had to leave a message for a return call, but there was no indication of when that might be.
Bleurgh - feeling sick to the pit of my stomach :-( Have never been caught out like this before and feel so so stupid.0 -
Go for the fast track option. You'll be fine.“What means that trump?” Timon of Athens by William Shakespeare0

Irish or British?
Irish one - passport express (via the post office) takes 10 days (and mine has always been back in 7)Weight loss challenge, lose 15lb in 6 weeks before Christmas.0 -

Was just about to suggest this and may be quicker again if you go down to the office.
I know they are a lot less picky on the photos too. oh and they are cheaper :money:0 -

They will return your call - but it may be a day or two.
Personally - ring and just hold. It may take them a while to answer but they will. Dont ring at obviously busy times like first thing in the morning, lunchtime or just after tea. Book a personal appointment at your passport office through them - it will cost you money but you WILL get your passport. The chances of you getting your passport in time otherwise are close to nil.
Oh, and they're opening on sundays as of this sunday.0 -

At 8am, they probably had 500 calls queing.0 -
Thanks guys - I now have a dilemma - have managed to get an appt at passport office for Thursday, with guaranteed 7 day turnaround. What do you reckon...is it likely they will do it within 7 days. OR do I take an appt in Dublin on Friday for an irish passport. Could they give it to us there an then, does anyone know? (Dont mind if it takes all day). 10 wkg days for an irish one is right on the limit.
(Also forgot to say, cant get phone answered at irish passport office so cant ask questions!)0
