default found from years back

Hi all,

Hope you would be able to help on a default on my credit file query. Back in 2009 i took an 02 contract out and when the 2 years were up i had fully paid this off. Looking today it seems there is a £7 default on the account which only Noodle is showing. I am worrying as I am due to apply for a mortgage soon.

I have e-mailed 02's credit referral team and awaiting a response. Has anyone had a similar ordeal and had it solved and the default taken off? I know i had paid this off. I have had no correspondence in the last 2 years from 02 to even suggest i owed them money.

Many Thanks

There are others who have had similar situations and have managed to get them resolved.
Although I think 02 don't seem to have such a good reported track record as some of the other mobile companies in resolving this type of issue.
Hopefully they will sort things for you in response to your email. But if you do not get a satisfactory response then I would send a formal complaint in writing to them.

Hi I had the exact same situation and when I called up they couldn't tell me anything more than the default was on my account from 5 years ago as it was so little I paid it over the phone and got them to send a letter out stating that it had been paid and account was clear

A similar thing happened to me with £9.00 owing. I emailed the credit file referral people at 02 on Tuesday and by thursday they had replied and agreed to remove the default.
