Refunds & Min payment Santander CC

I had a balance of around £800 and had a refund of around £285 after my statement had been produced. My DD for the min payment wasn't taken. Is this right? I've read on this forum that refunds don't count as payments but the Santander customer service says otherwise...
Should I be worried?

Not if they say it counted as a payment. It varies across providers.
And the DD is their responsibility.0 -
Apparently, Santander CC (or their computer) seems to count a refund as a payment.
The same thing happened to me two years or so ago: the DD was not taken due to a refund.0 -

That's very reassuring and good to know!0 -
Not all providers treat it as such. If DD was not collected by them then no problem.0
