Reclaim NatWest PPI from 2001

Another question, folks - hopefully the final one.
I mentioned earlier that I'd lost my job in 2001 - but didn't claim on the insurance because I did not sign on to the dole.
However, I did make some tentative inquiries about signing on at the time - in part, because I wanted to claim on the insurance.
However, the dole office said I was not entitled to Jobseekers Allowance yet - because I had received a redundancy payment in lieu of notice, equivalent to two months' wages. (It may even have been three months' wages - but it was definitely not more than that.)
As it happened, I found another job within three or four months, without ever having to sign on.
However, my finances took a big hit during that period - which was why I had to take out the second loan mentioned earlier, consolidating the first one.
I felt really bitter at the time that the redundancy pay had in effect prevented me from claiming on an insurance that was meant to protect me in the event of redundancy!
Worth mentioning this in the claim? Or am I still at fault because I never signed on?
Thanks again!0 -

None of that aids a mis-sale complaint as it happened years later and is not linked to the sale. If anything it harms a complaint as it shows you knew about the PPI and considered claiming on it but didnt need to due to new employment.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Also not relevant because no one will pay you redundancy insurance until your garden leave period has ended.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
