Hi. In February 2013 EDF signed me up to a Blue Price Promise June 2014. I felt peace of mind knowing that the prices wouldn't go up especially as the 'big 6' always put them up in winter. I have just discovered that I was only put on the Blue Price Promise for the gas. They put me on a standard variable rate tariff for my electricity. I have complained to EDF and they are currently looking into it. Has this happened to anyone else?

    Probably.

    Didn't you check your bills?

Did you get paperwork for the switch?

When I changed to a fixed tariff EDF sent me a 4 page document with a break down of the old and new tariff, and information on any and all services I was using.

I can't think that I received any paperwork. I use EDF's 'My Account' so all my bills etc are on there. I was on a Blue Price Promise for 2012 (for gas & electric). After that came to an end I signed up for another one. When I log onto my account the home page says Blue Price Promise account summary so I didn't think anything different.. It was only when I tried to sign up to another fixed tariff it would only give me a gas projection. I called EDF and woman that I spoke to told me that I was on Blue Price Promise for gas and standard variable for electric. When I queried it she back tracked and said I was on BPP for both. Tbh I don't think that gas/electric bills are easy to understand but when I have studied my bills more in depth I am on standard variable just for electric

I am signed up to Myaccount and paperless billing too, I still got confirmation of my tariff switch and details in the post though.
