HELP! Advice on motor insurance needed!

Options
A car went into my car last year. I contacted my insurance straight away but the other insurance company took months to respond. In the mean time I didn't want to claim on my fully comp insurance until I knew he would admit fault as my insurance was already high for my Audi turbo. I refused to have a courtesy car and When It became clear he wasn't going to admit fault I paid for all the damage to my car myself (my excess was 2 grand!) I specificly asked the rep if it would affect my next years insurance. He assured me it wouldn't as it would be seen as an incident not an accident and I had not claimed off my insurance.
When I come to insure my car this month my new insurance are insisting ive had a no fault accident and they have added £241 onto my policy.
How can this be right or fair when I am already out of pocket and I claimed nothing from my policy?:mad::mad:

Hi, you may not have had a claim but you have had an accident/incident,

Insurance is all about statistics....you reported the accident/incident to your insurers so in their eyes you are statistically more likely to have another......that's just the way it works !

When the rep told you this he was only representing his own company's way of operating

You changed the goalposts by moving to a new insurer and cannot blame the rep that this has affected your premium

Presumably when you shopped around for a better deal at renewal time you did so without mentioning this incident but your new insurer checked you out on the database and altered your premium.

If you are still within the cooling off period and it's cost effective to do you can cancel and start again.

You do need to disclose this incident to all insurers you approach for quotes in future
