NPower Crazy Gas Bill!
Comments

Just an update. I have spoken to Npower who have tried to tell me that I have supplied an incorrect meter reading in the past. I can't say for certain that I haven't to be honest. I know the most recent one is correct for a fact. The next most recent one is one that Npower took themselves when we let them in back in October. If this is catch up from errors, why wouldn't we have been in this situation earlier when the reading Npower took was used to bill us?
This most recent winter wasn't even that cold. We definitely didn't use 5 times as much gas last winter as we did the one before.Set your goals high, and don't stop till you get there.

Bear in mind that Npower changed all their computers recently.
My £123 pcm direct debit was set to £10 pcm. I had to reset it myself. Now its saying I'm £600 plus in credit. I really don't think they know their ar5e from their elbow.
Worst supplier so far and I've been a customer of SSE and Eon.The Cabbage
Its Advice - Take it or Leave it:D0 -
You're quite right, an actual reading by reader would have corrected any previous anomalies caused by Estimated Bills or Customer mis-reads
This means that the Start Reading for this bill has been verified by n'power, and you are certain that the End Read is correct by it's reading today.
It all points to a faulty meter, which is so rare suppliers refuse to believe it can happen, but it does - Your conversation with the Customer Service Desk reeks of " A say anything to get this guy off the phone" answer.
WRITE to n'power heading the letter Complaint, listing your seasonal billing history as far back as you can go.
The likelyhood is that n'power will offer to fit a check meter, for which they will make a charge if your present meter is found not to be faulty - but with a bill this size in the balance it's what I'd do.0
