Hiya,
I'm not sure if I'm posting on the right section or not but is really like some advice please..
Cutting a very long story as short as I can..
I've been with sky for over 8 years, as they keep pointing out on the phone. Customer service has always been fab until last week I phoned to cancel. We're moving house and I wanted everything cancelling. The woman did everything she could to try to make me stay, which fair enough, is her job. I said no anyway, thinking we may stay with sky or we may go with virgin, but either way, it will be in my husbands name not mine. The lovely woman turned nasty when she realised I wasn't going to stay, called me stupid for wanting to change into his name. She said my contract would end July 4th, and shed just put me on hold a minute, instead she cut me off.
A couple of hours later I called back to check shed cancelled it for me, this woman was lovely, checked and said woman 1 hadn't cancelled it jot had she put any notes on, but she could see that shed entered my account and that I'd called. So she said don't worry, I'll do it now. She gave me the same cancellation date, and my final bill. Each of these calls had taken a good hour each..
I then emailed through their complaints section, complaining that woman 1 hadn't done as I'd asked and cut me off, and that I was lucky to call back a second time.
I received a reply saying that neither woman 1 not woman 2 had cancelled my account, but that woman 2 had put a bit on saying I'd phoned enquiring about cancelling. I replied to this saying I was shocked, would she cancel it, and she replied with the same cut and pasted email she'd sent before, with a couple of altered bits, but saying I needed to call again and cancel.
This was Friday. I then received another email from someone else from the same department on Sunday, saying she'd pass my cancellation into the relevant department. I've phoned tonight and had more issues with them that I'll not go into now, but also checked over the phone and on their online check, and it still hasn't been cancelled. Does anyone know how I can cancel my account, and what I can so when they try to charge me all this extra because they haven't cancelled it any of the first four times I've requested then to?

Put it in writing and cancel your direct debit?0

SKY can be a nightmare, but a cancelled DD will do the trick, plus a postal letter confirming you want to cancel (and letting them know how poor their phone staff are!)

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.

You could also call back to cancel, and tell them you are recording the call as proof of cancellation request. (And DO record the call, if you can).0
