AJ Bell Youinvest feedback

Options
Like a lot of people on this forum, I left HL as a result of their fee increase and after a lot of research, decided to go to Youinvest (AJ Bell). Primarily because they were the only ones to offer some low cost ETFs as part of their regular monthly investment program (£1.5 per order)

After 3 months, I am VERY unhappy with them. It is basically impossible to log-in between 8 to 9am as the platform doesn't recognise your password, and gives you the typical BS error message "you entered an invalid password". This usually results in an account lock-down after 3 trials.

Customer service usually replies with another typical BS line "we are sorry you are dissatisfied, and will pass your concerns to our IT department"

Given that it took me 3months (unacceptable as well btw) to transfer out of HL, and before I transfer to someone else again, I wanted to make sure that the problem wasn't just with me, but that others are also experiencing the same level of frustration.

It feels like their amateur platform never was scaled up to accommodate the growth they went after.

Thanks for your suggestions

I only get the password issue on the mobile app, using the web site it normally gives a more informative message. Having said that I'm nearly always on between the hours you suggest and 95% of the time it's OK, it is often down for maintenance during the W/E though.

hmmm, no problems logging in except when the site is officially down, but i wouldn't usually be logging in between those times.

(it may be no compensation, but they have just increased the range of ETFs available for monthly investment.)

Agreed, their offering is great for that... not sure why no other brokers offer the same.

Cant say I've had any issues logging in on their website, and I do sometimes try during those hours.
  • Not issue with webby, 'cos I didn't get there. They 'must have been lost in the post ..' my application for HL sipp transfer, missing the deadline.
Still with HL while I rethink my plan...

I'm not sure to which ETFs you are referring, but I'm currently investing monthly in two Vanguard ETFs at iii for £1.50 per deal. It looks like there is a pretty big list of other providers' ETFs that can be added for regular investment, perhaps anything listed on LSE?

I am currently investing on the following ETFs

    VWRL (vanguard global stock index)
VGOV (vanguard global gov bonds index)
SLXX (ishare global corp bonds index)

Are they available on II through the £1.5 regular investment?

I cannot login now as an example... this is completely BS - I got locked again after 3 trials...
And the link to unlock the access doesn't work... "Unexplained Error
    Sorry, an error has occured."

I think I am through with this BS platform !

The system was happy enough to add all three to my monthly investment programme when I tested them out just now.

I am going to open a trading account with them and will see how good they are. Given thatbit took me 3months to get all my family's isa across to youinvest, i want to make sure the next broker is a lot better!
