Options
Are there any places in wales thinking Swansea gower that will provide tents for you? Thinking of going camping, family of 5 but don't want to buy any equipment in case we hate it! Thanks x

Google "glamping swansea" and see what pops up. They may be pods or yurts rather than tents, but same idea.

We are pod 'camping' this year as we want to do three different sites over just over a week and packing a large tent every time doesn't appeal.

http://www.coolcamping.co.uk/ is a great resource. Type in an area and then you can filter the results for yurts, pods, etc.

Or see if you can borrow a tent and kit from friends or family in return for a bottle of wine?

Whilst you are right to try before you buy, beware that what you get as a yurt, glamping etc will be different to what you get when you go shopping for your own tent. That said you can start to get an idea for things you like and don't like. The other option is to buy something cheapish on ebay that someone else has been mug enough to buy, use once and then decide they hate camping. I've got a very nice £600 tent that cost me £100 on that basis and has so far done me 3 summers!

I'm trying camping with the kids this year, and we received a five person tent from Freecycle after I put on a request. it's in decent condition and is big enough for myself and two teenage lads.
