Virgin Saving - Recovered Interest

Hi there
I have a couple of savings accounts with Virgin Money, which used to be Northern Rock accounts.
I have just logged into the accounts today and Virgin have recovered interest from both of them. Not a lot of money (£1.89 and 45p in each account), but it has pushed one of the savings accounts which I was just keeping as an 'if I need it account' into negative which I didn't think you could do on a savings account!
I've had no communication from Virgin about this and when I just called they didn't know why and I have to call back tomorrow to speak to the interest team for information.
Has anyone else had these interest adjustments?
