..... I am saving them to make a denim patchwork throw for my son's room:D.

same here; I found a really great idea (I lost the website so cant link sorry) that when doing a denim quilt for kids you put the pockets on the quilt as well. my gd would love this.

thanks for the link aussielass

When I was at work I used to buy good suits and then get cheaper blouses to mix and match; always had loads of shoes and a good handbag.

Now I dont work, I just have 'going out' clothes, usually trousers and tops and 'staying in' clothes which is comfy trousers and tshirts. Rarely go anywhere posh but kept a nice skirt and jacket just in case I get an offer I cant refuse :D.

I rarely find clothes in charity shops (but working on losing the weight so I hope this will change) but I have bought some great stuff from ebay, tops trousers, shoes and trainers. Been really pleased with all of it. Only stuff I would buy new now is underwear.
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D

How does everyone else organise their wardrobe? Do you keep dresses together, suits, tops, trousers and skirts or is it better to group by colour?
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J

Meant to press the quote button :o

In answer to the orginal question first, I do have an organised wardrobe. I heard years ago, never to have "best" clothes as you'll never wear them.

I have allotment/gardening clothes which have either wrips or holes in them or are very faded black.
Then I have work clothes which are relegated "good clothes", although, fingers crossed I'm looking for another job at the moment so it wall call for a re-arrange of good clothes.

Then at the moment I have good clothes which I wear in strict rotation :D

When I've ironed them I make up an outfit and hang those two together.

I have a pet hate of two items on the same hanger - never do that :o :rotfl:
I never thought I was this interested in clothes :rotfl:

Ohhhhh I am so impressed at anyone even thinking about having a 'capsule wardrobe' or organising their wardrobes by garment or colour!

I am a complete clothesaholic - so I am guilty of being not at all OS in this matter - although I do always buy from charity shops/second hand clothes exchanges/Ebay.

I also hardly ever throw clothes and accesories away unless they are completely beyond repair, so I am still wearing a blouse I bought 32 years ago!

Not so much a 'capsule wardrobe' as a 'juggernaut wardrobe' for me I fear... Although I have recently started going through it and selling some of the items I haven't work for years on Ebay.

You all put me to shame.

I do treat my wardrobe like a storecupboard - although I have never thought of it that way!

I always have a smart pair of black trousers and a smart black knee length skirth for work, much in the same way that I almost never run out of rice or orange lentils...

    Accessories are like condiments !

OK, I'm a little obsessed with this analogy now....
  • Oh if only I was so good -=I am totally addicted to clothes and can never have enough of `em. but I DO keep and reuse/repair/recycle and wait till thy come about again so p`aps not too bad afterall. - OH says I keep too many !!

I buy basic black trousers/skirts then add a top in usually shocking/normal pink, lilac or pale blue & maybe a toning cardi/jacket - By staying within a colour group its easy to coordinate! mind you I also shop at Primark etc so I dont spend much on clothes anyway!
I THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I Know
