Are there any accounts where you must wait out the notice period in order to withdraw?
Or am I gonna have to bury some cash somewhere in order to prevent spending it?

How much are you talking about?
Some Regular Savers lock your money away for 12 months but you are limited to some £300-400 or so max deposit a month on the best ones.0 -

Check the T&Cs for fixed rate deposit accounts. I believe some don't allow withdrawals during the term so they should work for you."If you will change, everything will change for you." - Jim Rohn
I simply use these forums to share my knowledge, reinforce my learning and experience as an IFA. Please remember, if your circumstances are complex, speak with your local IFA from Unbiased or VouchedFor directories for regulated financial advice.0 -
I had assumed the OP wants some half-decent interest, in which case fixed rate deposit accounts wouldn't be a very good choice because the interest rates are abysmal. Also, they would only be possible candidates for lump sum deposits. Given that the question is due to lack of self-control, I doubt there is any big lump sum.
A lot depends on how much money we are talking about.0
