I recently bought this item: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007H6Y96G/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Very pleased with it, so wondered if I could make something on the back wall of the decking. It is east facing and gets the sun from 10am to around 5pm - a real sun trap.
Has anyone done anything similar?

What do you mean "do something".
They usually just sit there.
I got something similar to that, i think from Poundstretcher or Home & Bargain and it's a bit light, it blew over easily. You'd be better if you can find a way to screw it down.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

What are you looking to grow? I have a similar one and 2 plastic growhouses on my deck, also east facing. I used the little one to grow on and harden off, and I've got the growhouses for tomatoes and cucumbers.
They've been pretty useful, but it does need to be weighed down or fixed in some way - mine are held back to the fence with bungee cords.0 -
Yes, we grew cucumbers in ours last year. A friend of mine grew a hanging basket of tumbler toms. I agree you must either bolt them to the wall or ground. A few bricks in the bottom or a growbag is not enough. They are also known as blow aways0
