Boiler quote?

Hi

Have got a quote for getting a new boiler installed, just looking for some advice as to whether I need all the extra bits and pieces.

Supply/install Baxi Platinum HE 33KW A rated combi boiler - £2250
Chemical flush - £75
Digital time clock - £55
Programmable room stat - £150
Supply/install magnetic filter - £125
C.O. Monitor - £23
Decor - £80
Plus 20% VAT

That boiler retails at about £900 INC VAT.

I think that tells you all you need to know.

The price of the boiler is not really relavent unless you know how much work is involved.

If its a combi to combi swap it may be expensive. Back boiler or conventional boiler to combi, in a new location its not that high.

Get some more quotes so you can compare them.

Thanks for your replies, I've had a few quotes and they've all come in around the same price. Going to look into the Green Deal to see if I can get some cashback..

Yea it's a good option, expect to have to pay an extra 500-600 for the flue gas heat recovery to get the Two measures but it's worth it to get the minimum 1000 Cashback.

Don't know if it helps, but I received the following quote ;

Decommission and remove old back boiler and tanks.
Removal and capping off of Old fire
Supply and fit new Worcester Greenstar 29CDi Classic condensing boiler.
Supply and fit wireless room thermostat.
Upgrade Gas Supply.
Supply and fit 5 x TRV’s
Supply and fit 6 Radiators. (including complete relocation of one)
Replace all microbore pipework with 15mm and 22mm Copper pipe
Supply and fit magnetic filter
Chemically flush system + add inhibitor.
Inspection of all gas appliances in property
Making good all plaster/decor etc.
Issue of Gas Safety Record.
7 Year guarantee on boiler.
10 Year guarantee on heat exchanger.

Price excluding VAT: £2462.50
Price including VAT: £2955

Are you up in Scotland by any chance as that is dirt cheap

Up in north east England, know people who have used the co, (not mates rates though) and the engineers are all gas safe registered. I checked it all out because I thought it was cheap as well.
