Hello,
My father applied for PIP nearly 3 months ago and hasn't heard anything back yet, does anyone know when to maybe expect a decision?
Thanks in advance

I note https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/65719151#Comment_65719151 .
Assuming for the moment that he is not terminally ill.
In March, there were 266 thousand people waiting for a decision, 38 thousand new claims, and 14 thousand claims were decided.
At this rate - if everyone is dealt with in order, a claim 3 months ago will take another 19 months.
The government is making noises that they wish to increase the rate of decisions - but I take this with an extreme pinch of salt given their startling inaction so far.
They need to increase the current processing rate by five or ten times, in order to be able to deal with the backlog, and migrating people from DLA to PIP in 8-4 years.
Of course, delaying means they don't have to pay new claimants.
They currently have well over 200 million pounds extra borrowed from new applicants to PIP.
For people whose condition has worsened, and they are being reassessed on DLA - the increased award is similarly only paid once the PIP award is made - so the person permanently loses out on several thousand pounds. This is again likely 50 million or so stolen from the disabled simply by inaction.0 -

Hi I wasn't aware he needs to have a face to face, I don't really know much about PIP.
If he did need to have a face to face then he probably wouldn't be able to attend due to his illness.
Is this normal practice for everyone?0 -

The majority of people need a face to face. A home visit can be requested if he's unable to attend due to illness.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked
