Tablet keyboard @ sign problem

Have a Hudl tablet, very pleased. For a recent birthday was given a smart case and a separate ' proper' small keyboard. This is great.
But I have never had a laptop, although have had a computer since the early days of DOS and Win 3.1.
Problem is that pesky '@' sign . Its on the keyboard but it shares the key with : ; @ ' four symbols. and three of them are on the bottom row.

Now the @ is blue and I know ?? that I need to pres another key in tandem to use it.
The obvious key is one marked Fn also in blue , which sits bottom left with control option and command .

But no luck so far. Please .Where am I going wrong

Tap and hold, then select the appropriate symbol?

Only a guess. I used my sister's Hudl a couple of weeks ago, so I should know the answer. I guess I've got used to doing such things and don't remember doing them. :)

Thanks, but that certainly works with the 'virtual' keyboard on the screen on the Hudl , but its the blue toothed small keyboard that came with the leather traveling case.

ctrl+fn maybe, or ctrl+shift..... it'll be something like that....
    ......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

Nope . just tried that, loks like buying a cheap Chinese keyboard off of Amazon was not the wisest thing.
Which is a shame because everything else about the keyboard is fine.
So at the moment, using the keyboard, but when I nee an '@' have to resort to the virtual one.

The clue must be in the colour of the different keys. Vast majority simply white .
But the top line is blue top and red for the lower line F2 etc
2nd row of buttons are in white standard qwerty, but have the words

apple Android {Thats android in white!) windows beneath the QWE
