Overly long wait for V5

Just a quick vent of my frustration at the DVLA!
My partner got a golf 18 months ago and waited 16 weeks to get the V5 for it.
Now he's got a new car and I've got his golf. I sent the v5 slip off 7 weeks ago...and guess what still no V5. What is annoying is he got the slip to say he is no longer the owner, and has got the v5 for his new car weeks ago (we sent off the v5 slips in the same
Posting!)
Anyone else waited silly long times? It's frustrating because I need it to get my reduced Dartford toll crossings!

What slip did you send off 7 weeks ago?0

Are you sure you're sending off the right part of the slip as it seems odd that its only been with the golf?0

Don't get me started on the DVLA.
I've given up (temporarily) trying to get one of my car's details corrected. Every time I've tried, they've lost my request, which includes the V5C, and then I have to fight them to send me a new one at their expense, not mine, so that I can send it back to them, so that they can lose it again ...
I applied online for a new car tax disc on the 5th, the earliest you can do so. OK, the 5 working days for receiving the disc aren't up quite yet, but they still haven't even 'cashed' the debit card payment.
The closure of the local offices has been a great step backwards. If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?
