Pay courier cost to return faulty item for repair?

Hi All,

I bought a maxi - cosy car seat base brand new about 18 months ago on Ebay.

The base is now faulty and the ebay seller long gone. Maxi - Cosy will repair it for free (it has a 2 year warranty) but want £15 for the courier costs - is this acceptable?

Thanks

  • Yes as your contract was with the seller and not with the supplier.

Depends on the terms of the warranty.

Without the warranty they don't have to repair it at all

If the warranty terms state you pay to get it there and back, thats what you have to do.

Maxi-Cosy don't have any legal responsibility to do anything, only the seller does. Unless you can contact the seller somehow, Maxi-Cosy's offer is your best bet.
