Case and Sheel for MBP 13"

Hi All,

I have just bought a new Macbook Pro with retina display 13" and I am on the lookout for a shell and carry case.

Has anyone got any recommendations?

I am also considering getting a screen protector but that is not top priority.

Thanks

Hi there, when I got mine late last year I bought the case and shell from the Apple store itself.

The case was made by 'Incase' and is sort of wetsuit material on the outside with a furry lining, think the price was around £25. I can't remember the name of the shell manufacturer but it was roughly £35.

You may get it cheaper online but I had the money at the time so bought it!

    :)

You already have have a screen protector, it's called the lid. :D
One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.
  • I'll second an Incase sleeve for your macbook, I've been using one for several years and it's great.

For a shell I'd recommend a Speck SeeThru Satin Hard Shell. They come in lots of colours, very sturdy and gives a light "grippiness" to the macbook without being sticky.

No point in a screen protector tho!

I got a Speck Black hard shell. Get a 'Clear' one if you like the silver look. My black one covers up the glowing apple logo so it looks blurred.

Note that it adds weight (300 grams) to the machine. Also, make sure you don't put it in a bag with a lot of debris. That can get in the gaps and scratch the macbook.

Thats the one I've got, the black one by speck. It has a lovely feel to it and has definitely stopped the odd scuff mark from reaching the aluminium case of the laptop. couple it with the incase furry slipcase and you cant go wrong!

Another one for the speck shell, I also have the black one although it does show fingermarks if your hands are slightly greasy or sweaty.
