I didn't notice that - explains where my £4 came in then. I don't know whether that includes hand luggage or not, & it's hopeless trying to get through to them on the phone. Have you looked at the baggage FAQ? Maybe someone else who's flown with Ryanair before will now the answer. :)

Just booked up for me and DH to go to Venice in October, just for 1 night but we've got three kids and don't think I could find a babysitter on this earth that'd want them for more than one night :rotfl:

Thanks OP, this is the first time that me and DH have had a night by ourselves in 15 years ;)

"You have selected our Online Check-In/Priority Boarding service, passengers who qualify for this service can avoid check-in queues and be priority boarded onto the aircraft. Don’t forget to check-in online from 2 days up to 4 hours prior to the scheduled flight departure time. Click to Remove this service and just travel with 0 bags."

it costs £4 - does it involve hand luggage?

You don't have to pay this fee for hand luggage, its
Just for checking in bags to go in the hold.

"The following passengers cannot use online check in:
Passengers travelling from Italy to the UK" - Ryanair website

Surely this means that if you select 0 bags - £4 for online checking - and are going to Venice, and then travel back to the UK, you cannot use online checking on the way back and will be charged an additional fee?

Go to the Ryanair site, & put in where you want to leave from & go to in the search boxes on the left-hand side of the page. Put in approximate dates of travel, the number of passengers, then click on the red 'Book cheap flights' button. It will give you the flights for those particular dates with the cost - just click previous/next day until you find one at the £0.01p rate. Select the outward & return options at that price, click on 'Select and Continue' & you should then see whether taxes, etc will be levied. If they will be, just go back a page with your browser & select new dates using previous/next day as before. :)
