Morning,
My brain is not functioning this morning and I cannot think of the correct words so apologies for not doing personals. My thoughts are with all of you who are struggling or had upsetting news.
Does anyone else struggle with the weather at the moment? I think that spring and autumn suit me better. I like the summer but as soon as it gets to the temperatures we have been having I flag. One positive is being able to get the washing dry in a day!
Plans for today are to make a cake, do a little ironing, I usually can manage 7 to 10 items, and make a start tidying up our bedroom.
Take care all.

Morning all
Beautiful day here and very warm already, will hang the washing out after this, and I have another one in the wm.
Day off today and dd and I are going into town she needs to get her holiday currency (she is off to Zante) and I have an appointment at the opticians.
Not sure about dinner, I think it may be carbonara as I have some bacon left over, I will need to get some cream and some eggs though.
Hester I am so sorry to hear about your MIL, how dreadful for you all x
Molly Happy Anniversary x
Topsy Positive thoughts for the little one xx
Have good days all xx0 -
Hi everyone,
Congratulations Molly, I'm glad you are feeling brighter.
Hester, so sorry about your MIL, I know how you feel, my MIL died because of the toxic effect of a drug she was on thanks to the stupidity of her GP. Lovely pic on Facebook.
We went for a 5.5mile walk last night, it was lovely but I'm suffering a bit today.
I found out yesterday that you can get in Westminster Abbey for free if your parish priest (or equivalent, any denomination) applies for a pass for you - up to 4 parishioners. We're not churchgoers but sis-in-law is so she's going to ask her vicar to apply - it's £18 each otherwise.
DD wants me to go to IKea for her so I might go across today, she wants a table and chairs for her balcony. DH is driving the car down to London for her on Friday, she and bf are going away to a swish spa hotel to review their new tree house accommodation.
Otherwise I want to machine sew the binding on to the quilt I'm making which will just leave the hand sewing which I do at night watching tv. I might cut out a top to make, I bought some cheap jersey to see how it goes together and trial the fit of it.
Have a good day.0 -
Morning all,
Hester, I'm so sorry to hear about your MIL my thoughts and prayers are with you x
Judy, you know I think your daughter is wonderful and I love catching up on what's going on in the baby house, welcome to little Soldier.
Dh is home today, no work unfortunately but it does mean I get my fireplace tiled. I need a few bits of food shopping, just fresh stuff and I shall try the charity shops again for a door curtain. I'm going to wash the walls and the woodwork in the hall when I get back, well as much as I can until I flake out.
Dd and DGS are away until Sunday so it will be nice and peaceful and hopefully we can our jobs done. Two weeks today until my brother and his family visit from Australia, can't wait:j
Better get a wriggle on, have a good Wednesday xxStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Well there is panic in this house today as we had an email from the solicitor yesterday asking if Friday next week is ok for completion on the house -I've not replied yet
,mainly because we havent anywhere to live yet.The friend of ours who has rental properties says the one he'd earmarked for us wont be vacant by then so he's ringing some contacts today and hopes to hear by lunchtime. If they dont have anything we'll have to sort it ourselves. We thought we had at least another 2-3 weeks yet as there were so many queries to sort last week.Might have to buy a tent and camp on a friends lawn at this rate:eek:
Anyway if I disappear from here for a bit its cos tents dont have much internet access :DI had a good day packing yesterday but lots more to do so better dash-hope you have a good day all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning everyone, a beautiful day down here and I was lucky enough to be able to do the morning walk with the lurcha as He Who Knows had to take the car in for a minor fault to be fixed. Blue sky, sunshine, birdsong and country lanes to walk along, doesn't get much better than that.
HESTER I'm so very sorry you find yourselves in this potition, it's very sad for your poor MIL. Palliative care is wonderful these days and I so hope you can find a safe and caring place for her to be kept as peaceful and pain free as it's possible to be. We're always here to listen if you need to 'say it' and always with you in spirit to hug you all when it's necessary.
MOLLY so glad you're feeling better and back home, congratulations of your wedding anniversary, have a lovely day and treat yourselves to something really nice, because you're worth it!!!
Have yourselves a really good day everyone, Lyn xxx.0 -
Morning all,
Hester - Sorry about your MIL
Molly - Happy Annivesary
Judi - This is my first and only time of being Mother of the Bride too. I have no idea what to wear!
Washing on the line and I am currently part way through cleaning the house. I've done the top and middle floor, just have the kitchen, utility and hall/porch to do. I didn't allow myself to touch the laptop until I had done at least two floors otherwise nothing would have got done!
We have fathers for dinner at school today which usually means chaos although this time they have limited the number of parents allowed so it should be more manageable.
Have a good day

The girls have achieved such a lot in such a short period of time. Soldier really is a blessing. My daughter Whatsapps voice messages of him as well as pictures. For a 2 and a half year old he is coming on in leaps and bounds. She sent me a voice message yesterday which she recorded. 'I love you Nanny' he said. It really did choke me. Not only is he learning English the carers that help the girls have been told to speak to him in his native tongue. He is picking up his native language too which is Zulu. The girls say they don't want him to lose his 'roots'. They also are trying to find Soldiers Father. He hasn't been seen since he signed over the paperwork. The girls want him to be part of Soldiers life for however long the man has got left.Judi - What a lovely story, I am sure Soldier will appreciate all your DD and partner have and will do for him, especially the love he will receive from them and you.
'Youngest' is stressing about his exams tomorrow. He has done well in his mocks but isn't confident.
Grandbaby is sleeping soundly in his cot by the side of my bed.

Judi, I love reading about Soldier, it's a shame your hubby doesn't feel the same as you, he's missing out. My ex treats the foster grandchildren differently to his own grandchildren so he loses out all round.
Children are a blessing & I believe they bring love with them.
Thank you for all your kind comments about MIL, hubby is better today, y'day he was in shock.

Just popped back to say Happy Anniversary to Molly and your DH
