Help to remove iCloud please

My iPhone 4s internet connection stopped working. I cannot connect via phone or wifi. I now have a new phone but to be able to get cash for recycling iCloud needs to be removed. I have tried connecting phone to pc via USB and also logged into iCloud on PC to delete iCloud account. Says deletion pending internet connection.

Any ideas how to remove iCloud from phone without being able to connect?

Restore to factory settings? If you're selling the phone you should do this anyway, just make sure anything on the phone you want to keep is backed up on your computer

The important settings you need to switch off are I message, face time and find my iPhone. These will all require the phone to have a working internet connection though. You can also remove devices from your Apple ID on the Apple website.

Thanks, tried that but doesn't remove. Saved all photos etc.
