upvc Bifold doors

Adv needed!

2 years ago I had a 7 panel Bifold system put in our new extension which is about 6m in length.

To cut the story short in the 2 years I have had them the supplier/fitter has been to the house 7 Times to rectify a variety of issues from doors not closing or the sledding doors sliding off the track ( I was left holding 3 Bifold doors whilst 5 months pregnant).

I demanded he contact the engineer of the manufacturer to see what they recommend, and all I got was them blaming the installation and not the product. In the meantime I got someone from the industry to have a look and the summary was:

Upvc not the right material for such a big gap
Design fault

The last time the supplier/fitter came to "fix" the doors he told me he had never installed these doors before but he had asked The manufacturer if they could do the job and they said yes which is not the case.

Anyways I sent a final letter asking the supplier to rectify the problem once and for all with the engineer at his cost and a 20% refund as compensation as only been able to use doors 3 Times in 2 years.

After 2 weeks we are nowhere further. I said to him I just want my money back and he can take the doors when the replacement comes and he can then continue to dispute it with the manufacturer. My contract is with him and I don't want to be in the middle of their dispute. The doors cost me £6500.

I feel that I have a right to get my money back as I gave him ample opportunities in these 2 years to fix it.

Regards
S
