Mortgage Refund Query

So sold our last home and completed on the new house on 22nd June. Shortly after i received the mortgage statements advising our new mortgage amount and interest etc. Also indicating extra the first month due to interest (no issue there as expected this interest on top for the first month).
My old mortgage came out 10th each month (last payment being 10th June) so today i was expecting to see new amount taken out of my bank account instead i receive a credit of the exact amount of my old mortgage payment and nothing else, although sure they will deduct the new amount soon.
Trouble is whats with the refund or last months payment ?
Any ideas

Anyone else have any views on this. They have now taken out this months new mortage amount (plus a bit extra for interest, this is right). But i still have the refunded amount which equals last months total (I.e Old mortgage amount)0

They haven't taking out a payment for your old mortgage by mistake and then returned it have they? Its just that it happened to me. Or could it be when they worked out your completion statement they didn't account for your June payment?0

Have you tried contacting bank to ask?

It's probably a temp. blip on your account as they cancel your old mortgage payment. Expect it to vanish and for an adjustment to follow hsortly.Debt free 4th April 2007.

happened to us when we bought our current house, was to do with the timing of the redemption statement, ie if we paid mortgage off before x date we owed y BUT monthly payment came out in the interim, mortgage was paid before the cut off date and sols sent the amount on the staement, meaning we had overpaid by 1 months payment, was also refunded on the day the next payment would have been due.
Well worth a phonecall to check, oh and I assume you have stayed with the same lender?0 -
