Will weed membrane damage soil underneath?
Clueless 'gardener' needing some advice.
I had a patch of grass/weeds (5m x 3m) which was unkept by the previous owners. The rest of the garden is concrete slabs.
I removed about 2 inches of soil and weeds and have flattened the area by walking over it. My plan was to turf the area but I need a safe space for the kid's trampoline - which I assume would hinder the grass growth/health.
So, I was thinking about covering the area with a weed membrane and placing trampline on top. Once the kids outgrow/get bored of the trampoline, I could lay some turf. However, this could be in a few years time, so would this affect the condition of the soil when I come to laying the turf?
Thanks.

should be ok assuming that moisture and air can pass through the membrane into the soil (rather than just a thick \ pond type material that forms a barrier.... weeds do seem to grow back through most that Ive used..0

I have found that vigorous weeds will grow through the membrane.
I suppose that if it lets water through then the vigorous weeds will force their way through......
No way will it harm the soil.

It won't harm the soil, just un cover when you are ready in a few years, de weed if needed, rake over and level, place turf down, water, mower and enjoyBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100/100miles

Normal weeds will not grow through the material if it is a good quality woven polypropylene, like Phormisol or Mypex. What do some previous posters think professionals use?
Don't use spun bonded stuff, which won't take the traffic of children anyway.
The soil will be just fine.
