    I presume it has to go back on the ceiling...? If not, I'd get an expanding pole, wall to wall, no fixing required :)

    Yup, the is the last-ditch option!

    I appreciate it may come to this, but its really not ideal cos of the siting of a wooden framed window (neighbour visibility!) and untiled wall. I'd then have to get a tiny waterproof blind (or have two shower rails i suppose but thats pretty ugly), and all sorts

    Nothing is simple in houses, I swear it!
