Well, if you have it done professionally, takes around a week.
IF you're talking council...how long is a piece of string.0 -
thanx I thought id ask as im getting it done via the occupational therapist and work started last Monday and they are still here0

Ours took 2 men 8 days. this was taking up the floor and going back to the breeze blocks.
The electrician came in about 3 times for a couple of hours each time. Tiling took a morning and decorating another day. It was about 2 weeks from start to beautiful finish.0 -
thanx wild west this is the second week but they missed a day and half when no one showed up, I guess im just being inpatient lol0

Took one man one week to remove my old bath, shape the floor so that water ran into a central plughole and fit the shower. Well, there was an electrician involved for fitting the electrics and a fitter involved for installing the waterproof flooring stuff but we're talking maybe an hour for each of the other two trades, the guy that did almost all of it worked alone and had the job finished within one week (or 5 days if you discount the weekend).0

It took a week or so when I had my wetroom done.
But, it was explained to me that the installation people were actually converting a few bathrooms at the same time...so each day they only worked a few hours at each house. They explained that they felt this was the most 'efficient' way to work as it meant that they could give electricians a full day's work (going to three or four jobs in the one day) rather than calling them in on four different occasions. ....also some jobs only needed a few hours work and then had to be left for the rest of the day - for example the flooring needed to be left for some hours after being laid.
It was frustrating for a couple of weeks - although as agreed they always ensured I had the loo and sink available at the end of each day! (During the day I arranged to be elsewhere)......but at the end of two weeks it was well worth it! The wetroom made a huge difference to me!0 -
