Balance Transfer processed to quickly

I applied for a balance transfer on line with Virgin Credit Card and was accepted, they gave me a credit limit of 4 times my requirement with sixty days to carry out the the balanace transfer. The balance was transferred imediately without me activating the account I have just the activation code and cards today. The point is I had one final transaction to do on the card before I wanted to complete the balance transfer but now have a residual balance can I balance that amount or is it a once payment? Can anyone help?
