Redundancy/income protection insurance

Hi to everyone, this is my first post on this great site
I have been employed for over 12 months now with the same employer and I'm thinking of taking out a policy that would protect my income if I were to be made redundant some time in future.
I'm not aware of any impending redundancies but I'm not naive enough to think a job is for life!
Any of you had a policy and could vouch or recommend one as that could help me narrow it down.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I was made redundant in may last year and i had a redundancy cover with legal and general. I cannot praise the cover enough as they made the process straight forward.
I hope you never have to claim but it was a simple process of registering with the job centre to set up a job seekers agreement and your employer also needs to complete a form.
The cover also offered a back to day 1 cover meaning that after 30 days you received the benefit amount. Also you will still be eligible for job seekers.
Just ensure you take the back to day 1 option if offered as if not you will wait a total of 60 days before first payment.0 -

That's a handy bit of info, thank you and I will make sure I go for back to day one also.0
