Motorbike insurance for Expats

My brother is currently living in the middle east having left the UK to teach abroad about 4 years ago. He keeps his motorbike at my parents address in England and until now has just renewed his insurance automatically. He uses it for a couple of weeks at Christmas and a couple of months over the summer.

Can anyone recommend any insurance companies or brokers he could try to get insurance from? Most of the main stream ones require you to be a UK resident.

Also he's a named driver on my car insurance. Does anyone know if this will still be valid if he's not a UK resident.

Having him on your insurance and not a UK resident maybe a problem for you. I would check your policy terms and maybe remove him.

The policy terms may have stated that UK resident.

Try a good broker, Stuart Collins, Adrian Flux, for example.

Hate to say it but I've tried many many many times and I've not found a broker who will insure a motorbike to a non-resident.


Car insurance you can get as there seems to be enough demand for a broker to touch it but bikes it seems not =(
