Npower - taking 3 + months to change tariff

Hi there,

I know there is a lot of stuff going on with Npower being slow with everything at the moment. I'm still with them, but I changed my tariff with them over 3 months ago. However my most recent bill doesn't reflect this at all and my online account still states I'm on the standard rates. I contacted them and they said they are behind moving people to their new tariffs. They said they will re-issue the bill when they do get around to it with the correct tariff.

I feel a bit fobbed off! I don't want to end up being stuck with a more expensive bill when I don't have to be! Is anyone else having this issue? I'm shocked it has now taken over 3 months.

Thank you for reading.

My tariff ended last week, I went automatically to the standard tariff then it changed to the fixed price Sept 2016 one.
I had changed to the April 16 tariff....called them and today I see I have been placed on the correct tariff now but they have closed the account!!

Called them to be told it could be August before it's sorted!!! meanwhile do I keep paying the D/D into a closed account or what....they told me to pay by card on the phone...I suppose that would be better incase they cannot pay into a closed account.

D/D though is still live on the bank website....

So Abcynthia you are in good company.

Hi I noticed this too but all I did was just email them and let them know & it was done automatically and backdated to the date I changed.

Easy to sort, no complaints ombudsman hassel needed just an email :)

    Hi Sheffield Lad,

Thats encouraging to hear.....I emailed them yesterday (vis the website) explaining what had happened, l hope things go smoothly as they did for you.

How long did you wait after emailing before things were back to normal?

    Cheers

Hi I logged on a week or two later and it had changed to the correct tariff. They did not get in touch maybe because my email was slightly casual IE "Hi guys do me a favour and sort this for me please" hopefully it won't be long for yours.

    Hi Sheffield Lad,

I went on to my Np account yesterday to find that a closing statement has been issued and a sum of money was taken from the balance in credit.

I called again and spoke to a chap who seemed to know his stuff instead of saying the problem is being raised with the back office.

He confirmed I am on the correct tariff and it is back dated to June 2nd, he confirmed the D/D amount and told me that it will not be collected this month but should be next month. In anycase it should be resolved before 28 days.

The new D/D will be worked out to include whats accruing while payments are not being made....I will be informed by post what the new D/D will be.

He said that the supply tariff part of the account is ok but it's the payment side that has been closed.

So hopefully someone will press abutton somewhere and it will be sorted.
