New bathroom quote - Are we getting value for money?

So just a quick summary. We live in a 2 bed terrace in the South East. It is dated and needs some work (cosmetic) and as the bathroom is starting to fall apart it will be the first room to do up. Currently we have artex ceilings, carpeted floors, wallpaper and times, a shower that appears to be made out of breeze blocks and a nice green corner bath....
We are doing it both as an investment (in time we will do all rooms in the house) but also to live with for at least the next five years.
The bathroom is large for a house this size (2.1m wide and 3.6m long) and comes with its quirks (Slanted ceiling one side and steps down in to in at one end) but we have room for a shower and bath which does increase costs.
I'll paste the quote below, like for like we know we can get the odd item a bit cheaper saving about £300 over all but question is are we upselling ourselves and just going for the expensive stuff??

Material quote is fine, Labour is slightly high, baring in mind you are not full tiling, judging by those quantities. However, as always on here we cannot judge completely fairly as it is site unseen!

I don't think you are being stitched by any means.....

Is it going to look expensive when it's finished?

Spend money on good stuff, by all means but make sure the design is spot on for the room as a whole and that details are covered, like concealed storage for loo roll and toileties and somewhere to put your shower toiletries other than on the shower floor. I'd be gutted to spend that much and find that it looked much like anyone elses.
