Student Maintenance Grant- change in circumstances

My daughter has applied for Tuition Fee Loan, maintenance loan and maintenance grant. She will receive the loans but not the grant because during the year 2012/13 our household income was above the £45000. However our income during the current tax year will be approx £27000. Obviously it will be a struggle to support my daughter at uni on this income and in theory she should be entitled to a grant if assessed based on this tax year. I cant seem to find any information about how we go about declaring this new income to the Student Loan co so that she can get the grant. Anyone know what we need to do?

Unless it has changed since last year you'll need to fill in a 'Current year assessment form' as well as the original form. You should be fine to do this as your expected income will be greater than a 15% decrease on the previous year.

They'll ask you for evidence of what you're actual income turned out to be next year, and may adjust the entitlement as appropriate.
