Not with Npower anymore, but my neighbour is and she has received a letter today to say that they are changing from quarterly meter readings and bills to biannually

They have had biannual billing for many of their tariffs and payment methods for a while.

Why don't you set her up with a gmail account on your computer then use that to set up an online account for her which will enable her to get the best online deals?

I have done that with a couple of my neighbours, they give me readings when required and I enter them online.

After all it's not like it is a state secret how much gas and electricity she uses.

And DDs can be set up by post or phone though you will be able to see them in her account online.

You just have to trust each other.

N Power do have a "register over 60" or similar means, I am 71, and have registered, no need for online, they promise, which may not be worth much given it is N Power, to read meter quarterly and send bills

Give them, or get her to ring them and register for it, they put a note on the register and use DOB as additional security

PS, my [not estimated] bill is by DD quarterly, works so far and whilst it may not suit all it suits me, and may suit your neighbour
