Pre-paid credit cards for Malaysia

I am moving to Malaysia in August. I currently have a Visa Electron card with my bank as I have a bad credit rating and cannot open a current account. As this card doesn't work in all places in the UK I am worried it won't work in Malaysia (Kota Kinabalu). Would a pre-paid credit card be a good option?

Most prepaid cards are Mastercard, although you can find Visa if needed.
Do your research on how Visa and Mastercard are accepted in Malaysia.0 -
Visa and Mastercard are widely accepted in most retail shop in Malaysia. Most of your daily expenditure, however, will likely be in cash.0
