TopCashBack - Sky - Dispute over Incentive, both refusing to deal

Hi all
I signed up for Sky a few weeks ago, using the TCB deal which was £75 voucher (arrived), £106 cashback (tracked), and a further 6 months' half price TV package, worth £81 (not honoured). This was the reason we took the package out finally, after a lot of deliberating to ensure we could afford it.
Sky are now refusing to honour the discount saying it was vouchers OR discount, while the TCB site clearly states both. I have a screen shot of this as proof. TCB are refusing to handle it, as they only deal with the cashback element. My argument with them is that if their website had the offer incorrectly stated, then it is down to them to resolve this. I would not have taken Sky without this.
Any thoughts on where I stand? If TCB have got the offer wrong, but took my money and Sky signed me up, are they in breach of my consumer rights?
thanks in advance

It certainly won't be Skys problem if TCB were advertising it. I can hold up a sign outside my local Morrisons saying everything is 50% off, but that doesnt mean anything.
I believe on all cashback sites the advice is treat the extras as extra to the deal, as in don't rely on them for the price. I assume there is some caveat in theT&C about that.
What does your Sky contract say about deals?
Almost £200 PLUS discount on your tariff does sound a ridiculously good deal. What was the package you signed up for?0 -
Even if TCB stated the deal incorrectly, surely you will have agreed to terms with Sky when signing up which will have outlined any discounts or incentives. What did those terms say?
At the bottom of every page, TCB state "From time to time the information displayed here may be out of date." which basically covers them in the event of a misprint, although I'm surprised they don't want to get to the bottom of it for the sake of correcting their information.0 -
Thanks for replies. Just double checking my facts!
The TCB site on the Sky page mentions cashback issues, as in the merchant may not pay out, but not incentives.
There was nothing about incentives except the £75 vouchers. TCB made it clear you could not call Sky, it had to be completed entirely online without verbal contact at all
I will upload the deal I signed on for in a second - yes it is particularly good and I understand why they have now amended the terms.
I agree, this is a TCB problem but they are refusing to deal with it at all.
I guess I am asking - if they had an offer on their site that I took advantage of, are they obliged to honour it on behalf of their client? cashback tracked immediately and then I contacted TCB to check the discount had been applied.

Just looked at the terms page and it does say that cashback is never guaranteed which I accept and take as part of internet purchases. An incentive from the seller is not mentioned at all, unless I have missed it0

What did it say after you clicked on Get Cashback?0
-
it gave me the normal message and took me direct to Sky's site to the choose package option.0
-
And the Sky page included the £75 vouchers and discount period?0
-
The sky page included the £75 vouchers, not the discount0

TBC are still offering half price TV deals with Sky, yet seem to not want to deal with my questions. If the offer was withdrawn, I could sort of understand, but it is still on!0
