Refund of Tickets for festivals

Hi,
I purchased tickets for Secret Garden Party via part payment (ie pay deposit and then rest later). I missed the deadline for the remainder few days ago. Now SGP are keeping my deposit and stating if I want to attend I have to pay full price for all the tickets (the deposits were 50% each). They have stated the deposit is non-refundable.
What can I do as I want to attend but I can't afford to pay 150% priced tickets? I am waiting for their email to justify their decision seen as they haven't sold out and I want an explanation on why payments after the deadline will hinder them (when in fact it will benefit them by paying them the rest of the money).
Any help please??

There is your problem right there they are not sold out so I imagine it will be quite easy for them to justify their losses.
You entered in to a contract and failed to honour the contract.
If they had sold out then you might have been able to argue that their losses were less than 50% of the ticket value.0 -
But what are their losses from waiting a few extra days for payment?
Looks like OP does still want to go, but not to pay 150% for them?
OP did you get a special deal when you ordered, early bird or anything. They would be entitled to cancel that side of the ticket price.0 -

Yes the OP got a better deal if booking early

So if the OP wants to go they need to pay full price.0 -
Offer to pay the difference between 50% of earlybird and full-face value of adult normal.0
-
So not 150% of the price OP, you just have to pay the same price as everyone else?
Thats completely fair if that is the case. You have lost your right to the cheap price.
I thought they wanted to keep the deposit, 50% and then charge again for the face value, aka 150%
Seems your actually just paying 100% , as opposed to 70%ish (maths is not my strong point!)0 -
OP are they only asking you to make up the total to £180.50?
If so I think its fair as you lost the right to the £142.50 tickets when you didnt pay the balance
If they are asking for more than the £180.50 then I think they are wrong0
