Having problems,
vm broadband was installed yesterday and eveytime i'm browsing the internet the computer restarts with blue screen, its been happening ever since i plugged in the modem. i also have vista so i don't know if thats why, the tech team know nothing.
Are there any other providers that use the cable, cause i don't have a phone line and not intending to get one.
Any thoughts please!

Is the modem connected by a USB cable or an Ethernet cable?
If it's USB, it might be worth trying an ethernet cable.- = I also recognise the Robins and beep for them = -0 -
ethernet cable0

Did you install any software? If so remove it as you shouldn't need anything to get a network connection via ethernet.0

No, just used their set-up cd, do you think its the vista thats causing problems0

Did the setup CD install anything? (or was it just the registration?)
IIRC the NTL CD's often have a few apps such as the broadband medic etc on them.
The modem shouldn't affect the PC at all, as it's connected by ethernet and is invisible to the PC (all the PC should normally see is the ethernet card in the PC, which is why ethernet is the preferred connection method, it tends to cause a lot less problems).
I'm not 100% sure if Vista has this, but under XP you could go to the control panel, admin tools and look under Event Viewer for crashes which would often give an indication of what the problem is/was.
It could be worth checking your ethernet/network card's drivers are up to date and vista certified.0 -
i had the same problem so thanks for the information0
