Parking fine at Birmingham Airport

I recently dropped my son at b'ham airport. I had always dropped him off at the same location by the long stay car park. I have now received a parking fine BA01 - failing to park in a designated parking area. I did not leave my vehicle and the engine was running whilst he got out with his luggage. The whole incident was between 1 and 2 minutes in total and the fine is £100. Could someone please help me to appeal this fine.

Hi jpfromcov,
The help and advice you need will be found by reading the NEWBIES thread at the top of this forum. Get a cuppa - have a read and if you still have questions post again.0 -
+1 - Sorry if it sounds like a fob off but the reason for the Newbies thread is to cope with the many questions that are posed everyday. Seriously, everything you need to understand is there but it will take a little while to work through. Just go with it.
A few things to understand:
1. You have NOT been fined.
2. APCOA have sent you what, in legal terms, is known as an "invitation to settle". It is not a fine and you could even choose to ignore it but why would you when with a little time spent in reading the guidance and sending off two letters (you can even do it on line - not entirely recommended though) you can make the whole thing go away.
3. APCOA are alleging that you broke their rules and that by breaking them they have lost £100 which - even if you are frazzled by having to thrash back down the A45 - you know is complete bolleaux.
4. Don't allow yourself to be drawn in by this. It is easily dealt with.
5. Now chill. Get a beer out of the fridge/put the kettle on/have an ice cream. Don't do anything until tomorrow. There is no mad rush.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0
