Scotland -> Thailand Dec19 - Jan16

I finish up work on the 19th of December and I'm looking to go away to Thailand/Cambodia for 3-4 weeks (also spending some time in Cambodia). I've been searching the web and can't find anything below £750. Is this how much I can expect to pay?

I'm flexible within a few days. Might go for 3 weeks so I'm not using 10/14 out of my holiday days in 1 sitting.

Any advice appreciated.

    Well, that's the peak of the peak season for Thailand so prices are going to be high. £750 sounds quite good for that time of the year.

    You might be able to save a little money by taking a low cost flight to Amsterdam, Paris or Frankfurt and then flying from there to minimise British APD. However, the risk is missing your connection so it is often not worth the saving.

    Just had a search there and it's only £15 cheaper doing it that way.

    Not really worth it then :)

    I've also had a look at flying via Kuala Lumpur but that doesn't look any cheaper either. Unfortunately, this is just the market for SE Asia at Christmas/New Year time. Once you get there accommodation rates will be at their peak too.

    You should also look at flights out of Dublin.

    And have a really good look at the site for Ukraine International Airlines: but only if you have strong nerves!

    Pity you can't get into Paris a day earlier. Egyptair are offering a flight @ 593 Euros, so around £480, leaving on 19th, plus it is only 16hrs long.

    It's 553 if you return on the 15th but 16 hours is way too long, it has one stop. Only worth it if you are on a very strict budget.
