Hello, I made a claim last September (2013) when a 3rd party hit my car door, caused damage and drove off. 3rd party is now claiming their car is a write off and I am at fault. A parking attendant was a witness and gave me his employer's details. I passed all details to my insurance company back then and had several phone conversations with them in October. I was told to wait as the other party was disputing their fault and that it can take up to 2 years.
Then in April 2014, insurance company sent me a letter claiming I had made no claim and sent more forms. I complained by letter and filled in the forms - no reply received.
When my insurance was due for renewal, I rang them again (am I allowed to name and shame here?) and they told me they cannot contact the witness anymore as he does not work there anymore! And...wait for it...as I don't have a witness, the accident will be considered my fault!!! I had a proper go at them and they admitted they have messed my claim up and all I can do is to write a letter of complaint to them.
As a result, I had to renew (with a new company, of course) with 0 NCB years and ended up paying extra 400. It has caused me a lot of stress and money and I wonder what I can do to sort this mess up.
Anybody with any good tips that can help? Thanks beforehand!:)

Formal complaint in writing. Suggest trying to send a letter to the employer asking them to pass a letter onto the them.
You dispute any liability. The were not at fault for the accident in any way and thats the only outcome that you will settle for.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
