Unable to sign up to FirstUtility on-line....?
Yesterday I tried to switch to FirstUtility on-line.
(Various comparison sites are advising that this is my best option, with a reasonable saving over my current nPower account).
TopCashback are offering £42 cash back, so of course I went via the TCB site.
However, after entering all my information, I get an error message that just says 'Invalid Parameter'. It doesn't say 'what' is incorrect or invalid, but does not let me proceed. I checked and double-checked, but everything appeared normal - its only basic information like name, address etc...
I re-entered everything a second time, with the same error.
I then re-re-tried again today, re-entering all the information. Same error.
Contacted Customer Support, and started 31st in queue....
Some time later I got through, and was told it was 'probably a bug in their system'. They had no technical team, and were not able to advise what was causing the 'invalid parameter'. They did offer to set up the account manually, but of course I would then not received the substantial cashback.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?
I don't necessarily want to hold it against FirstUtility - despite their many complaints on forums, I'm sure all companies have similar complaints.

There are 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't!

You may not want to hold this against FU but I would suggest that's there's a very good chance should you go through with a switch to FU that you will have something to hold against them in due course.
They are one of the worst consumer supply companies for customer service with a tremendous capacity for mucking up billing and direct debit arrangements (which of course means that you'll find yourself 31st in the phone queue over and again trying to get your money back when they've erroneously debitted your bank account).
Do your future self a favour and don't switch to them.0
