Hi could anyone help me i ordered a sofa from DFS on 19 april, they were due to deliver on 12 May, still no delivery, had a call last week saying they would deliver from 9th june, i was not happy but accepted it, then had a call yesterday saying they can't deliver again untill 19th june, i told them i want to cancel as been waiting too long but they said i can't, on my contract i signed it said 5 weeks from 19th april, i think this is unacceptable, do i have any rights to cancel as they just keep fobbing me off with excuses, Thank you

Hi, check the contract first for delivery terms, however if it is as they quote 5 weeks from 19th April, then they have already exceeded their own delivery targets. How did you pay, if finance then you need to check the finance contract as well. If paid by credit card, and you really want to cancel, get in touch with credit card company - if DFS won't cancel and refund the credit card co are equally liable. But you must check the contract t&cs first.0

Hi i have checked and it just says this is a Legally binding contract and every effort is made to see that the approximate delivery date is accurate, but on rare occasions a delay may occur, so approximate date said 5 weeks, on 19th April so that is what 6 weeks and still no delivery, i phoned a few weeks ago and said i was not happy as i was having a party that's why i ordered the sofa early etc, they sent me a sofa untill mine came, it was black leather, dirty, white paint splashed all over, tears on the chairs and a hole in the back!!!! and this is customer service!!!! so if they will not cancel the sofa, i want compensation, the sofa was £900 i paid £100 dep on my card and cash on delivery when it arrived, how much could i ask for? i have also taken this week off work as it was due this week, and they only called yesterday to say now it's next week, so had a week off work for nothing:mad:0
